Something new on my hook

We are well into wintertime here, as we should be. There for a short while during Christmas holidays, I noticed that my pot of spring flowers Hyacinths were beginning to pop through the soil, that shouldn't happen for at least 2-3 more months. So now it looks more like the season of winter, and if the weatherman is correct we are going to a large dose of winter in the next few days, snowmagedden is heading our way....don't buy it.  At any rate it is lovely crochet weather, when isn't it?

I had originally wanted to begin this project before I started the vest I posted about earlier.
Summer Crochet Vest
I ran into the yarn tangle that wouldn't yield, and put it on the back burner. I'm making this one for my sister, and you can see the pattern here at J's.  I am making this in a Caron Simply Soft Lavender Blue color,

J's knit and purl jam cross my heart lace wrap EP#27

I have made about 3 of these so far, one for myself,  one for prayer shawl group, and one for a sweet 16 birthday party my son attended for a classmate. The poor dear didn't know what it was or how to wear it, go figure. Maybe I should have wrapped up a pair of weights, basketball or a soccer ball.
So sad. Somewhere in between where the young "ladies" are, and where they are headed might be a better place for them to land.   Commentary over.

My sister lives in a warm tropical climate, she doesn't need the wrap most of the time to be sure, but when she has Dr. appointments the facilities are very cold, this should take the chill off at least while she is inside.

I have for all intents and purposes completed the vest, it needs to be steamed to release the fabric and smooth it out.

So that is what's on my hook, and I'm stickin to it.

till the next time,
thank you if took the time to visit here.

I'm hunkering down and batting down the hatches for the snowstorm that isn't?
Or is it....
story still out on this till next time...
either way I'm crocheting

Crochet Vest WIP

Well, here we are in a brand spanking new year.
Resolutions? No I don't make them, at least not at the New Year, I started long before the holidays to  several things which affect my overall health and well being. Somehow, that works better for me than making resolutions, but rather making life decisions.

So, anyway....I'm working on a Crochet Vest and here is a view of what I've got done so far.
Isn't that a pretty stitch?
If you would like to see more, and finished vest check out the link and video below....

If you are a crocheter or knitter and love to create lovliness and enjoy friendship ,J's knit and purl jam  over at You Tube.  I stumbled lucky for me onto one of her video tutorials, and just love to visit with her. I have made now 3 projects, the current one is shown above, a crochet vest.
Just lovely time spent with a lovely lady....check it out.  I have the back portion of the back done and am 3 rows short of a front panel. I am using an F hook here on this project, I crochet loose, and Yarn Bee Soft Secret  Ivory 4 skeins.Which you can get Hobby Lobby. It is a very nice soft yarn with a nice sheen to it, like Caron Simply Soft which is my favorite and go to yarn. I have 3 stores nearby where I can purchase Simply Soft. Hobby Lobby is not near my home, and the drive is 45 minutes one way.

You know, I can't help but come back here and post. I never wanted a FB account, and found myself acquiring one so that I could access my sons Troop Account. They are having problems with that and say they have been hacked. I tried creating a page, and it just seems to me that I don't have as much flexibility with FB as I do here with my blog. I'm glad I didn't close it. So, I'm going to delete the FB account. I think there are enough bloggers still out there, to talk to.
So wishing you a wonderful New Year filled with Joy and much work for your hook.
